Somatic Healing Circle
Somatic Healing Circle
Service Description
Somatic Circle is a curated event introducing participants to the world of Somatic Work. Somatic Work is a holistic, experiential-body-oriented, trauma-informed approach that teaches you how to tune into your body's sensations and unlock the emotional residue stored within. This work recognizes the deep connection between mind-body in healing. You will be going on a deep and mindful journey of your nervous system. You will be exploring and discovering your current capacity (tolerance) for many things - to hold stress, to be present, to navigate conflict and to grow with the teachings and practices you will learn, etc. When we push beyond our current capacity, our nervous system becomes overwhelmed and we go into shut down. So we will look at what is our current capacity for conflict, for joy, for relationships, for community and "how much of all of that can I hold or experience before it overflows and overwhelms". Remembering and honoring that each person has a different capacity and that capacity can change from moment to moment, week to week, or from one teaching or practice to another. Through a gentle approach of various group-led somatic practices, education, and philosophies, participants will learn to understand their nervous system, the language of their body-sensation-allowing them to recognize how past experiences are held within. You will learn to build your somatic awareness, build your capacity and build a foundation of regulation - while understanding your limits, your ability to hold emotions, and how that fluctuates. This work gently cultivates safety, awareness, and embodiment, supporting healing beyond symptom management. By embracing all parts of the 'Self'-its complexities and contradictions-it fosters curiosity, compassion, and a deeper connection to the whole 'Self" and with others. *Though this work is therapeutic, it is not therapy and the Somatic Circle is for educational purposes only and is not a replacement for mental health counseling or therapy.
